“The exuberant, carefree look of The Yelton Manor Bed and Breakfast's English-style garden cleverly belies the strong, controlling hand that crafts it, lending an air of easy living.”

Be sure to stroll, idle on the swing, enjoy a bottle of wine on the deck and relax in the fabulous gardens at The Yelton Manor Bed and Breakfast and The Manor Guest House!!
The Manors are surrounded by an 8' x 150' border of mature trees and blooming extravagance. The lush, lavish abundance creates a fanciful, aromatic, textural wall between you and the real world.
Like the beach just beyond, a sumptuous, ethereal escape zone.
Every season has a great show.
The varied succession of bloom, the profusion of color, the waves of texture, the wash of fragrance.
Never mind our broken fingernails,
our sore muscles,
our sunburned noses.
For us, this is living large.
Pretend that The Yelton Manor gardens are your own slice of paradise for a day or two. The real world will go on without you for just a while. Here is time and place to connect with your own spirit.
Linger. Mosey. Dawdle.
Elaine is always happy to give tours through the gardens to guests, just ask her and, given a free moment, out she'll go. Remind her to put some gloves on, she can't resist pulling a weed or two.
If you want to enjoy the gardens at their ultimate prime moment, visit between June 15th and July 15th.
Early season, so quiet, with spring bulbs and the architecture of the garden in full view, nice too.
Late season and it's all so abundant, exuberant and falling all over the place...what's not to like?
All the fabulous flowering photos on this website were taken in The Yelton Manor B&B gardens! Feel free to use any of them however you please, they are our gift to you. Come and capture some of your own! Grab Elaine from the kitchen to take some photos of YOU in the garden too!
Can gardens be MORE "green"? YES! Beginning in Spring, 2012, and continuing for 3-5 years, we will be transitioning The Manor gardens to honor the new realities that Mother Nature has revealed to us. We are, of course, dedicated to the garden's beauty and its mission to inspire, then, now and always. But we will be evolving to include more indigenous beach perennial grasses and midwestern wildflowers, all in the spirit of mindful conservation. We will be composting much more, enriching the soil naturally with all the eggshells, banana peels and coffee grounds any house could ever dream to produce. We will be enhancing our edible herb, flower and vegetable gardens while we downsize and naturalize our "fashion" gardens. We trust you will enjoy and appreciate our commitment to sustainability and functionality. Life changes, it's good that gardens do too. We appreciate your comments and suggestions in this ongoing effort.
