Yelton Manor Bed and Breakfast Recipes

They say that the kitchen is the "heart of the house" and  it's surely true at The Yelton Manor B&B. Though there are umpteen nooks and parlors all over the inn, the kitchen is where everyone seems to hang out for the best chats. We are invariably there, cooking the upcoming meal and prepping the next, enjoying the company. We are always ready to share a technique or two with guests...we've even strapped an apron on a few enthusiastic types.

We have *brewed up* a dramatic enhancement to The Yelton Manor breakfast experience too! We are now serving locally roasted, organic, Fair Trade coffee! Local roasters are making a special "Manor Blend", and we are very excited! No hotel, and only a rare other inn, serves truly great coffee. We are confident that our discriminating guest (we call you "The Appreciator"!) knows the difference!!

We enjoy researching and experimenting with wonderful, fresh food. Nothing we serve comes from The Sam's Club freezer, nothing is fried, nothing is full of unhealthy fats.
We are fortunate that we live in the fruit and vegetable farming area of Michigan. The ready availability of local ingredients contributes immensely to our ability to create delicious meals.  Elaine cans and freezes so the food is always pure and delicious.
And our own garden provides all the herbs and flower garnish we need to make our food savory and beautiful.

We don't make rich, gourmet or fussy food for breakfast. We experimented with that that some years ago and guests didn't really care for it...nice to look at, not so great for eating.

We make abundant homestyle fare, tasty, always fresh, beautiful, healthy, created in our pristine kitchen with hands-on affection. Our welcome snacks are a bit more creative and epicurean, still absolutely delectable, ample and wholesome.

We serve no meats at the inn.
We honor medical and personal diets but please advise ahead of time
if special ingredients are required.

There are always sweets too, great cookies, outrageously gooey brownies, candies, hot popcorn. No vacation is complete without the treats. And nothing makes the house smell better than the brownies in the oven.

We share all our recipes with guests. Each and every one is ready to distribute from our kitchen file drawer. And why not? The only thing better than researching and inventing recipes is sharing them.
