IMPORTANT NOTICE: In response to COVID-19 here are the changes we have made for Summer 2020.
Of course, we had already perfected the fine art of “Social Distancing” decades ago, it’s literally what we DO!
We have the skills and tools to keep our inn and food pristine clean and safe.
So if cabin fever is making you crazy, come and watch movies, play board games, walk the beach, picnic on the patio, drink cocktails….enjoy some time away here with us.
Of course life isn’t what it used to be. Here are a few extra precautions we are taking:
All rooms and suites will be sanitized thoroughly and then remain unoccupied for 3 days prior to and 3 days after all reservations to insure optimum safety.
In order to support optimum “social distancing” and “best practices” protection, all guests will Self Check-in and Self Check-out. We will be available by text (any time after check-in time on your arrival date) to give you the front door security entry code and directions to your room. We will encourage communication via text.
We encourage everyone to respect “social distancing” and resist unnecessary interpersonal interactions. Smiles are always appreciated.
Elaine and Robert will be close by in person when needed, as always. We will be greeting all with Namaste “prayer hands” instead of handshakes and hugs.
Extra Purel hand sanitizer will be available all around and we encourage you to bring and use your own. Extraordinary sanitizing of public areas will be our priority too.
We are loosening our rule that previously restricted “bring in food” and are encouraging you to pick up meals at local restaurants. This will help you avoid lines, crowds or other social interface in town.
You are welcome to bring meals back to the inn and enjoy clean open space on the Sun and Stars Patio, the screened in porch or The Manor dining rooms. Tables and chairs on The Sun and Stars Patio are all set at a safe 6′ distance apart. We also encourage you to picnic at the beach or parks, ask us for beach towels. Please do not dine in guest rooms (it’s smelly) and kindly dispose of all dining refuse in the outdoor bin by the spray hose.
To further maximize protections, we have changed our breakfast service for the 2020 Season. As suggested by state and federal guidelines, we will NOT be serving full breakfast at tables in our dining rooms.
We have taken $60.00 off our “Bed and Breakfast” rate and offer only our flexible “Value Rate”, which is lodging only. But nobody needs to go hungry!
Our a la carte menu will be served daily in The Manor kitchen for “pick up”. Please excuse our disposable, compostable service containers, they are also for the safety of all.
Yes, you will be seeing us in face masks and gloves.
Michigan Executive Order 2020-59 requires a face mask to be worn in shared interior space (if you are medically able).
Our a la carte menu is available to all guests every day at 8AM and continues until noon. This convenient “pick-up menu” includes coffee and teas, green and fruit smoothies, yogurt, oatmeal and granolas, bagels and muffins, our famous Blueberry Breakfast Cake (“BBC”) and more. See the menu here.
If you crave coffee before 7:30AM, see our Indulgences for “May the Coffee Be with You” on our website. We deliver to your room! We encourage you to have clean hands when using books, movies, board games and anything in the shared areas of the hotel.
For the safety of staff, guest rooms will only be cleaned at check out. If you need extra towels or personal amenities you need only text us and we will deliver them. If you have an unusual accident (spill something, etc) that requires cleaning, of course contact us.
Thank you for trusting us with your holiday.
Love, Elaine and Robert
